How often should I post in my blog? Another way to put it is how little can I get away with posting! This is why it is so important to start a blog on a theme that you have a passion for or an expertise in.

It never seems like work if you enjoy it. But even that can not make up for the time it takes to blog on a regular basis. If you are busy with your life blogging can be easy to forget.

I studied the blogs of 3 well know internet marketers. Ewen Chia, Rosalind Gardner, and Darren Rouse. Ewen is the top affiliate in just about every program he is in. Rosalind is the author of “The Super Affiliate Handbook” and earns big bucks with affiliate marketing, and Darren is the owner of ProBlogger one of the most visted blogs online.

At EwenChia.com we find a landing page that promotes a free ebook if you sign up for it. He is capturing contact info and then following up. But he also has a couple of prominent links to his blog. When you go to it you see he has not posted a new article in almost 2 months.

WOW that is amazing to me. If blogging is so important how is he #1 in all of the programs.

Next we look at Rosalind Gardners’ Netprofits.com blog. Her website is a full blown portal site about internet marketing and affiliate marketing. She updates her blog on a regular basis and you can find a link to it on her home page.

It looks like she posts when she has something to offer. Usually about 2-3 times a week. This is much better, but it is still not daily or even several times a day.

Darren owns Problogger.net which is an authority blog on the topic of blogging. He incorporates material on blogging and making money among other things. He post several articles per day to his blog. If he can not blog for awhile he hires a guest blogger or two to fill in for him.

Here is what is would guess about these 3 brilliant marketers.

- Ewen relies on pay per click advertising and only blogs to support what he teaches in the internet marketing material he sells. He is a master of getting traffic in other ways besides blogging or even article marketing.

- Rosalind is big on pay per click advertising as well. She blogs to build her list and keep it informed about what is going on. Her blog is high traffic because she does not do much email marketing other than to refer people to a blog post he made. She probably has a very large mailing list that subscribes to her newsletter.

- Darren blogs and blogs and blogs. This is what he is famous for. His traffic is there to learn how to blog and make money blogging. He has a very impressive blog as you would expect.

So what does that mean to you and how often should you should post in your blog? It depends on the type of blog you have.

For sure if your blog is a large part of you business you need to blog several time per week. If it is a new blog you should blog daily or more often to start. Then you can blog less often after that. Maybe even weekly or a couple of times per week.

If you get traffic to your website from ways other than blogging than you can get away with posting weekly or even a couple of times per month. You really just need to post when you have something to offer your readers.

To answer this depends on the age of your blog, the style, and what you use it for. I know for sure that if you love the theme of your blog you will write in it more often. And that will be often enough.

The information is presented well and is easy to read. There are over 20+ videos which go into a visual demonstration of some of the sections covered in the main eBook, however for folks which are pressed for free time and don’t feel like watching the videos to check if there is anything of use will find a basic description of what each video covers in the main eBook. In a nutshell, the main eBook details all the required steps someone should go through to create a blog and then how to make the blog SEO friendly so to generate as much traffic as they can based on the keywords . Brian has attempted to promote his information as a plan, hence the title Seo Press Formula. The main eBook is essentially what he thinks to be the plan people need to carry out if they want to make profitable blogs. Taking that into consideration, let’s take a look at where I think the product fails to deliver.

The sales page for Seo Press Formula boldly states “How I Made $21,192.61 in 90 Days” however the actual product in no way goes into any depth or detail of how you could generate those sales or money. Statements of this kind on sales pages need to be taken with a grain of salt. Furthermore another let down is that about half of the main eBook is devoted to actually installing and making your blog SEO friendly (approx 40+ pages or so). A huge portion of that material is basic and can be found elsewhere online for free. To give you an example of this one part goes over how to install wordpress and another covers installing widgets like All in One SEO to improve the SEO factor of your blog. While most of the information offered in those pages is crucial and definitely can help your blog rank higher for your chosen keywords (such as permalinks etc), it appears to be that the norm for most products is that a huge portion of the material is all about basic or fundamental steps which leads me to personally consider this product is more for beginners or beginners with some experience. Once more, there is nothing wrong with fundamental or basic information, but why aren’t authors offering 40+ pages on advanced information?

While more than half of the information is basic, a lot is covered and a lot if not all of the advice given is valuable and isn’t a waste of time. A part I liked was that the author even suggests what parts you could skip or skim over if you already are experienced in blogs etc. Based on just how much is detailed, there are bound to be parts that most beginners didn’t know about or have heard about and just have not looked at in enough detail. I am of the opinion that most people know that there are many things one can do to help the SEO ranking of a site and its very easy to overlook some steps or tricks that you can implement. It is in cases similar to this that I consider the methods detailed is a nice refresher and can be good to jog your memory of what can be done to try and boost your SEO ranking. Another aspect about SEO Press Formula that I consider offers some use for beginners is the niche selection. While this does not mean the niche selection is the same length as just creating and making your blog SEO friendly (more than 40 pages), but it does try to offer some information of value.

Basic ways people can find possible niches (checking eBay etc), then scoping out competition and competing websites along with approx keyword traffic and using google trends to spot possible trends. The material within is once more fundamental and very basic, but for a those starting out it should be of use. Usually, most products released often completely brush over market/niche selection or at best offer a few lines of what they believe to be information but usually is nothing more than fluff. Finally, towards the back of the eBook there is a huge resource area with social book marking sites, rss directories and other resources that you can use to link to attempt and improve the rank of your website. It is an extensive list and folks shouldn’t really have any need to search for more places to submit to online as there is already enough to keep you busy for a long long time.

Do I believe this is worth buying? Possibly the best way to answer this is by taking a look at the goals or aim Brian had with Seo Press Formula. The main goal was that he wanted to teach everything he could about blogging and using SEO to get free visitors. Did he deliver? Basically I think he did and would say yes. A quick look at the main eBook makes it obvious that he includes an extensive amount of information on wordpress, making it SEO friendly and using different methods or sites to drive free traffic to it. It is the claim of helping people to generate profit that worries me. The core focus to me of the eBook is about setting up your blog and making it SEO friendly to drive traffic. Not much information is given about generating profit other than a few quick references to adsense and affiliate products. Despite this I believe there information within is useful, as long as you aren’t buying this product with the intention of getting rich over night. I think you will find the information is more for beginners than anyone else. Those with some knowledge of blogging will still find a few pieces of useful information, but I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who already had some knowledge in the area of blogging. In summary, if you are a beginner you stand to more than likely gain some good information from this product.

In the Internet Marketing world, normally you’ll see loads of HYPE and outrageous claims in the sales letters but you won’t find any of this in WP Goldmine’s sales page. That’s why it catched my attention.

Usually, I don’t pay much attention to WordPress guides. This is because I’m very familiar with WP and I find many information related to WP can easily be obtained for free (you just need to spend a little time searching the web).

Anyway, since it’s such an unconventional sales page and has a 60-day 100% money back guarantee, I got to give it a try and see what is it all about. So I bought WordPress Goldmine and here is my honest review.

WordPress Goldmine is written by Mark Thompson. The main guide is 128 pages long and divided into 5 parts. For those who are familiar with WP can skip or just skim through part 1 as it’s very basic. It shows you how to install WP, change the default settings, change the permalink structure (for SEO friendly purposes), set up the ping list, install new theme, install essential plugins, etc. Nothing is new to me in part 1.

In part 2, it discusses about CONTENT or what and how to add the right content. Essentially, it discusses about prewritten PLR articles and write-your-own articles. No matter where you get your content, it advises us to make our content UNIQUE. Because unique content is the linchpin for getting free organic traffic from the search engines.

Again, nothing is new for me so far. However, there is one thing that’s new to me in part 2, that’s a UAW WordPress Plugins that allows you to get unique content to your blog on auto pilot. I personnaly have NOT try this plugins so I can’t comment too much on this. And, I don’t think I want to try it in my existing blog. If I were to try it later, I would try it on a NEW blog as I don’t trust anything that sounds too good to be true.

Part 3 – Monetization. This is where WordPress Goldmine really shines. This is where it shows its real muscles. You’ll learn the various ways of monetizing or making money with your WordPress blog. The author provides indepth information on how he made $15,000 through just ONE blog post. You not only will see one of his LIVE blogs but he also shows you how you can follow his plan and set up similar blogs.

In my humble opinion, part 3 is perhaps the section that offers you most value for money! Even if you’re a very experienced WP user, I’ll guarantee that you’ll pick up something new here.

BUT, it gets better! In part 4, you’ll learn the author’s secret Traffic Generation System, how he gets organic traffic for FREE (no PPC ad costs, no buying traffic). You’ll also receive an easy to follow diagram that shows you all the steps and sites the author uses to generate free traffic to his blogs. If you follow and implement the WordPress Goldmine’s traffic generation system, the potential result for your site is immense.

I really thought that the guide should have concluded after part 4 but it doesn’t. It the final section (part 5), it shows you the advanced techniques the author uses to promote his blogs. However, the author strongly urges us to have created at least two blogs and apply all the methods taught in the previous sections before trying to learn the advance methods.

I agree! If you read WordPress Goldmine, you should master the basics first and then come back and tackle the advanced stuffs. Trust me on this, it will be a lot more effective if you can master the methods in previous sections first before moving on to part 5.
