All Right Cow

In this noob series we are going to examine the way a number of successful bloggers started out. Today’s honoree is John Cow. The site as some of you might have guessed was meant as a spoof of John Chow’s blog.
If you look at John Cows first couple of post it does some of the most important things a new blogger can do, state their purpose. IN this case that purpose is clear and simple, make money. They want to make it and by telling you how they plan to do it they set the hook in you. Plain and simple.
The first post still holds the original page slug, Hello World. They wasted nothing from their install, including that post. Re-titled Make Money Online, the post presents a firm grasp of what this blog is about.
JohnCow.com was initially planned as a parody on the popular blog JohnChow.com. In the process of acquiring the domain an idea came to life. Why not adapt the winning formula and amplify it’s achievements? Using the platform John Chow uses as a tribute to his marketing skills?
His first day shows 4 different posts all of which support the manin focus of the blog, making money. Post two starts the content. It details their philopsophy on posting, giving five examples. The next post is from Susan and talks about social networks and self promotion. The last post shows a bit more humor, but points out on the most important rules of blogging. This last post points out you aren’t going to be seeing any money on day one and likely not for some time to comes.
In the end it is a great way to start your blog out. Do you need to follow everyone of these suggestions? No, you could in fact combine them all in to one concise post if you wanted. However you need to establish yourself and your blogs premise when you begin. That doesn’t mean it can’t expand, evolve or out and out change in time, but having your purpose and principals down is most certainly one of the best things you can do to help yourself.
